I haven't recced anything in a really really really long time, but this is brilliant and it's not even my fandom (though I saw the trailer for the new Sherlock Holmes movie and spent the entirety of it biting my fists and squeeing, and as soon as it was over, saying to [personal profile] soleta, "I WANT THE SLASH RIGHT NOW, PLEASE.").

O_O

And [personal profile] toft has gotten a leg up on the fandom (which won't explode until Christmas, when the new movie comes out (and by that I mean explode with n00bs like me that don't know the Sherlock Holmes books from a hole in the ground)) and written a bunch of cliches/tropes (which [personal profile] thingswithwings has already done podfic of) that I'm sure are brilliant (and I plan on going to read first thing tomorrow morning), but it was Homo Ex Machina that made me click and read and holy mother of god, this was amazing. I'm sort of stunned at the dearth of comments, because it was pitch perfect on so many levels (writing style, the general Holmes/Watson interaction, the hot as hell sex, everything). Go read. Go comment. Let her know how fabulous it is.

Holy crap!

I just went and found the trailer (I had no idea there was going to be a new movie).

Now I'll actually have something to look forward to this xmas insted of snow and awkward family times :D

Well I think I'll love it--I am actually more a fan of the Victorian Era in general, even over-the-top Hollywood interpretations of it, lol.

Most of my Sherlock Holmes experience revolves around the movie "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes" which isn't like the books at all (that's the whole point of the movie), but gets bonus points because Holmes is gay in it :D

Have I yet pointed you to [personal profile] blackletter's epic Sherlock Holmes / Jeeves & Wooster crossover?

Something of Vengeance

I have been looking so hard for people to enjoy this story because I'm sure she's a good writer, but I have no kink for either fandom.
