No outlining tonight, had to practice for upcoming concerts but I'm still thinking through the possibilities. Might do a music-adjacent AU which is by far less dangerous for my nerves than an actual music AU. Still the possibility of a podfic AU though, because it amuses me.

18th: 695 words on the self-indulgent thing I started yesterday, and some editing (in file and on paper) of my big in-revision WIP. (I'm going to refer to them as WIP#2 and WIP#1, respectively, from now on.)

Hee! Yeah, no, these are just the two I'm actively working on at the moment. Lots more half-finished things waiting in the wings. :-)

I took a day off from writing today, while I dealt with RL stuff and let the longfic sit for one more day.

Sometimes it helps to fill the well a bit! I hope the RL stuff was not too stressful, and the story will keep.

Sounds like you have a lot going on. Not surprising you're having such a hard tine fitting in writing, but you will get there.

Oct 18th - had a log delivery scheduled for this morning, but since I had no idea what time they'd be delivered I couldn't get too involved in anything, knowing I'd have to abandon it to shift all the logs by hand. I managed 2 double drabbles this morning, plus a quadruple drabble and a 350 word one, so 1150 words in total. Now I hurt too much from log moving to do much of anything, but at least I got them stowed away before it started raining. Going to do as little as possible tomorrow.

Yeah, definitely busy. I need to rearrange things a bit though, because I used to be able to write no matter how busy I was, and I've somehow fallen out of the habit.

Wow, speaking of busy - shifting logs by hand??? Congrats on a heck of a lot of words for a log-moving day!

Life gets in the way sometimes, but if you can get into a habit of writing daily, it gets a bit easier, even if it's just five minutes jotting down a few notes for a random idea you might write at some point. I get most of mine when I'm washing the dishes, or cleaning out the fire, so I keep paper and pencil handy.

Yeah, it's a work-out. I can't even straighten up this morning. They're only small split logs, but there were a lot of them, and I can only carry four at a time. I'm really too old for this, but I had to get them shifted under cover before it rained. I've had to move logs in the pouring rain before now, so at least it wasn't as bad this time.

Thanks. I really needed to sit down after the log moving, so writing was the ideal thing to do.

On Day 18, I modded the student writing club and wrote 641 words of a writing exercise.
