And, I don't know if it counts as a fest, but Jelly and I exchanged podfic bingo cards, so I expect to be doing a lot related to that.
My favorite piece of this year: through someone else's eyes because I just put so much time, effort, and love into it, and came out with a good podfic, a great playlist, some meta, and some bloopers. Pretty good, I think. I learned a lot too, so I expect it to pay dividends next year.
My best piece this year: I guess it'd be so sweet a changeling, which was one of those whirlwind stories that come to me sometimes and had Kim as a beta (which means it's better than most of my stuff).
Most fun piece: Honestly, nothing here. My cold reads of Ariaste's HOA-verse are great fun and I just laugh and laugh and laugh and I relisten to them when I need a smile.
Most sexy piece: Definitely On Your Knees. Yeahhhh I just. Mm hm, let's not talk about it.
Piece with the single sexiest moment: On Your Knees again, though which moment is probably debatable. I actually really love all the sexy moments, and the not-sexy moment with Yixuan.
Most depressing piece: On Your Knees again, but it's not depressing at all, just a bit bittersweet at the end.
Piece that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: For a while I got really into the post-canon dynamic of Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji around Wei Wuxian, and for that, some good mistakes and where we are good and loved were excellent.
Biggest Disappointment: Myself, lol? I mean, none of my stuff did poorly this year, and yes, I did post one thing anon because I was terrified for a number of reasons. It's still anon, because I think while there is some overlap between my dwircle and The Untamed, it's probably not much and it's probably not going to like, cause me to feel like the story should be de-anoned. (Yes, it's listed up there.) But anyway, I did get back into a daily morning writing habit so I am SUPER thrilled with that. I also got very much into recording podfics and cold reads and I'm very proud of that, too. But my stories are running long, as always, and I'm just enough out of practice (and my life outside fandom stressful enough) that it means I can't work as fast as I would like to on my writing and it frustrates me not to post more of my words.
Biggest Surprise: The reception on for the very first time was much warmer than I expected.
Most Unintentionally Telling piece: I mean, I yammer on about how I choose voices for characters and music for scenes for 90 minutes in the meta for through someone else's eyes, and there are cat cameos, swearing, self-deprecation…
Favorite opening line: From On Your Knees: Seungyoun wakes up hot and kind of horny.
Favorite closing line: Again from On Your Knees: Sungjoo closes the door gently behind him, the one in his heart standing wide open and already waiting for Yibo’s return.
