Fandom snowflake Day 6

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts.

I seem to ask for a lot of the same things, but I guess the things we want don't change that much over time, do they? Okay, well, here goes:

1. Alpha reader(s)/cheerleader(s): I write longform most of all. Which means my stories are huge and sit at multiple thousands of words for a long time. Which means having someone who's excited about them and willing to bug me for more about the story helps immensely. I have had a few people here and there do this for me over the years, but I also have a weird reaction where I also seem to stop writing when this happens. The best situation for me has always been when I have a partner doing this, where we're both working on longform works and we egg each other on. So if you're looking for something like that, hit me up. Or if you just want to get a sneak peak at what I'm writing, hit me up.

2. Podficcc!!! I love podfic SO MUCH and would adore podfic of any of my stories. I know the podfic archive is a little jacked right now, so I'm happy to host on my wife's site if you need somewhere to host. <3

3. The thing I just cannot do: art. I love art and artists, and I am happy to be the recipient of anything vaguely art-like because I have not just zero talent at it, but actual NEGATIVE talent. I am in love with fanartists, so this is always just the thing that takes my breath away. It's one of the reasons I still sign up for those old-fashioned, crappy, art-is-a-reward-for-fic bangs - because I love art and will do almost anything for it. (I do also commission artists, so I try not to be a jackass, mostly, but. ART!!!)

I read several of the fandoms in your tags and I LOVE cheerleading. What are you working on at the moment?

Unfortunately (or fortunately, I guess, if this is one of your fandoms), Supernatural is most of it. The stories currently in progress but stalled are:

Supernatural, Wincestiel, epic (300k) story involving a curse, time travel, and one major canon fork

SGA, Impromptu, long McShep music AU that i just really want to finish because it's probably one of the best stories I've ever started, and it deserves to be finished.

Supernatural, Sastiel, big bang that's 3/4 finished. It's canon where Sam creates a dreamworld where Cas is his husband and Jack is their son. First half is dreamworld, back half is resolution once he's out of the dreamworld.

Supernatural, Destiel, a rewrite of Angelface that was a terrific concept I tried to do in too short a time frame.

And a bunch of medium and short fics with a range of pairings (all SPN), including Samcest, Sastiel, Wincest, Wincestiel, probably more I'm not thinking of.

I totally understand if SPN isn't your jam and you're not interested, but man, this comment just made my day either way. <3 <3 <3

Well, I'm not active in SPN these days [haven't been since about season 3], BUT I've enough familiarity with the show to read in it. And HEY that pic of yours sounds like its right up my alley. Time travel with major canon divergence is a bulletproof trope of mine. AND IT'S SO LONG. YESSSSS.

Your SGA is also one of my fave AU types - I LOVE musician AUs!

I'm looking for an alpha/cheerleader too! I'm pretty familiar with SPN canon, and I'm working on some longform fics atm myself (not SPN, but still long), so feel free to hit me up with that! I don't have any pairing preferences (Sam/Rowena is my jam, but I'm not so attached that I won't read Sam paired with others), so any ship is fine with me! I read through the comments and some of the summaries seemed interesting! :D

I love Sam/Rowena tooooooO!!!! But my pairings tend to be variants of Wincestiel. The epic is undetermined as I don't know where it's going to go, but I really HOPE it is going to Wincestiel.

I'm currently doing RPF, so I won't force you to be enthusiastic about my dumb projects XD

YAAAS Sam/Rowena is my jam! I had an idea for a fic of that ship (AU, ofc) where Sam is a divorce lawyer and Rowena's looking for a divorce from her husband (Lucifer), but Lucifer is an ex-fling/ex-boyfriend of Sam's. Never got it off the ground, but it was fun to think about!

I don't have feelings one way or the other about Wincestiel. I kind of only dig ot3s when I'm really invested in every iteration of the trio's pairings. I love plotty longfic regardless of ship (unless I hate said ship), so if that's what you're working on I'd love to hear about it!

I don't mind RPF; if it's about someone(s) I don't know well, I may need a primer of sorts, but I'm happy to give it a shot. What's your current story?

Ooooh, I love that idea! That's a really clever take on the Sam-Lucifer-Rowena storyline!

Yeah, I read and write all the pairings in Wincestiel, and my problem is I love them better together - it takes three of them to make the dynamics work properly, imo.

The epic starts really Wincesty (Cas doesn't show up until late in the first section (it's in three parts, Dean POV, Cas POV, Sam POV)) and then goes vaguely Sastiel-y, into something of a flip of canon. That's where I am right now. I only need to write another few scenes and then spruce up the sex I wrote ages ago (out of order, which is not my thing!) before I'm ready to go to the Cas POV portion of the thing. I've got about 80k written so far, and then another, I dunno, maybe 10k in outtakes/alternate POVs. This link is to what I've got written so far on googledocs. Feel free to have a look and leave comments on anything you like/dislike/have questions about.

And drop me a link to whatever you're working on - I'm happy to read in fandoms I'm not familiar with! The last time I did a cheerleading exchange, it was with a Glee fan - and that was a delight, despite me having zero clue about canon. <3

I'm reading yours so far and it's good! I may not be able to get through it as quickly as I'd like, but I'll read as much of it as I can!
