Fandom Snowflake Challenge Day 1

In your own space, talk about your Happy Place—the things that give you joy, calms you or keeps you sane.

Man, fandom is my happy place! I have met so many people I love in various fandoms, I just... this is where I am happiest. I enjoy sharing squee over canon, or discovering new loves, or just chatting about life in general. These are my friends, this is my family, this is what brings me joy. I love it.

Just for an example: I have a dropbox as a back-up for my AO3. I put it up a while ago and put a few things in it, but basically kinda forgot about it? I looked at it today, and someone has downloaded almost ALL of my 400 works? And organized it by fandom and pairing? I don't know who it was, they didn't ask for any recognition or praise or anything, but now I have a perfectly organized back-up to my AO3? And I kinda want to hug this person? BUT I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE. It both makes me happy and crazy at the same time.

I love fandom. Y'all are just great. <3

Seriously - I mean, if it was for their own benefit that is super flattering (doing ALL of the fandoms makes it seem unlikely, since there are roughly 10 million), but either way, that's so awesome!

you have 400 fic?!?!? I've been fannishly active for about a decade and if I have 20 I'll be surprised. I am very impressed and in awe!

also I had no idea people could organize and add to your dropbox. Mind you it's been a few years since I used dropbox.

Yeah, most of them are short. I do post-episode caps and missing scenes, and a lot of my early works were drabbles, so there is a lot of short stuff in there. And I've been fannishly active for 14 years, so it's been a while for me, too. <333

Yeah, if you make a folder public and allow people to do stuff, they can move stuff around and edit and whatnot. I remember doing that and thinking I was going to get myself organized, but that's as far as I got.
