Anyone doing Camp NaNo for April?

I did it last July and made my goal, but my cabin was stupid and there was no excitement, chatter, or anything else. Anybody got a cool cabin that needs another person, or want to try building a cabin of our own?

What's Camp NaNo?

Camp NaNo is an off-November thing tied to NaNoWriMo. I suck at November, so I usually try to do these, as it's more likely I can achieve word counts (no minimum - they say 50,000, but you get to pick whatever (I did 20,000 last July, and I'm going for an absolutely ridiculous 80,000 this April)). Cabins are like mini-cheerleading gangs (or can be - mine was lousy last year (I did random assignment).

I know what you mean about November - it's never really a good time for me to be tackling this kind of thing either. I've tried a time or two, but never actually got there.

This looks interesting! I'm not sure if I should try, or if I'd just frustrate myself more by failing ...

Maybe set yourself a realllllly low goal so you can't help but make it? I'm usually pretty good at cheerleading if I have a person or two who are in it with me.

Can you actually go as low as you like? That might be fun, actually! And I could use feeling like I succeeded at something for a change.

Let me think if I can come up with a project of appropriate length I might want to tackle for this ...

Or just do a general wordcount one? That's what I normally do, and my wife and I are both working on projects we've already started for this.

Aiming for the lowest-possible word count - I know I can write and edit 10,000 words in a long weekend if I have to. So I should be able to get there in a month, right? *g* And I'm not entirely settled on a project yet, but I think I've got one that could be finished with 10,000 more words. *ponders some more*

I suppose I need to sign up now ... how does that cabin thing work again? (Excuse the clueless newb questions!)

Okay, so if you have a NaNo login, you just go to the Camp NaNo site, log in, and edit your novel info. Once you've done that, we can start building our cabin. Your username is the same as here?

You have to put in A wordcount, but it can be as low as 10000 and you can change it at any time.

Ok, quick question: does our cabin have to have exactly 11 people, or is that the high limit? (Not that it won't, I'm just speculating for naming purposes)

Because I was thinking something ala FlailhardX!11eleventy, or similar.

Ahahahahahah, that's awesome! 12 is the max. I have a feeling we will probably make 12, but no, we'll just have as many as we have.
