I really, really, really want to finish this story, but what I keep doing is writing and trimming back and writing and trimming back. I know where I want it to go, but it turns out that it really is Kent/Neil friendship fic, and there's not even going to be kissing (but there is the threat of kissing, which makes it even worse), and I just need someone to read it and tell me it's not utter shit and that I should keep going and post eventually (and if for no other reason than because I have made a soundtrack that I love a lot and soleta has made beautiful cover art for it).

I have other writing assignments due, dammit, and I just know if I don't finish this first it will never get finished.

Does anyone have the time to get on gchat or go into googledocs and coo at me a bit? Pretty please?

Oh, thank you, sweetheart! I posted this late late last night, trying to get over a hurdle, and I made it! I'm on the downswing; I think the story'll be done in the next few days, thankfully.

Thank you! And thank you for the offer to coo at my weird tiny fandom nonsense. I'm not used to fandoms where the whole of it could fit in my living room, you know? It's a very different experience than my normal huuuuuuuuge fandom. I feel like I'm putting people out by even writing in this fandom because someone's going to have to beta this thing. D:

:D I'm kind of a veteran of smallish fandoms, though probably not as small as all that. SGA might be too large for my comfort, too. Even back in the LotR days, I used to stay in a smaller corner of the whole.

I just figured out who your Kent and Neil are, by glancing at your previous posts. Dance show peeps. Got it.

You write whatever makes you happy. Other people shouldn't factor in. You probably won't get many, if any, comments if the fandom is vanishingly small - very few people read fanfic that isn't based on their fandoms - but that doesn't mean it's a crime writing it. Heck, I've written fic for Sylvia Scarlett. Has anybody even heard of that one?

It's probably quite possible to beta the fic with just a small intro into the fandom. If you feel like you're not going to get anyone to do it, perhaps you can do a beta swap.

God, they're so cute, right? And that was the SECOND time they danced together - the first was a clearly all-boys, all-American baseball routine, for crying out loud. I love them both to death (and I've loved Neil for years - since he was on the show as a contestant).

I got through problematic part last night, thankfully, so I'm on the downswing. Though since you're familiar with canon, would you mind having a quick readover to see if it feels right? I like where the story's going now, finally, and I just want to make sure it doesn't feel ridiculous. No timetable on it; pretty much I figure me and six other people will even be interested, so I'm not worried about when I post it. <3
