twistedchick educated me as to the history of the word 'hack' which I assumed was from 'take a hacksaw to something' but is actually slang for people who write on a time limit. Interesting post about that and profic authors being lost in fanfic land without a passport.

Yeah, um. Well, I've written 1500 words so far, and just sort of shifted it over from what I thought it was into something entirely different, so. It's going to be longish, I think.

*bounce* If this is supposed to put me off you've got the wrong girl. LOL I am very excited. :DDD Isn't it interesting, though, how stories can just take on a life of their own...do their own thing - as it were. I am very excited to see where it goes. :)

And. Today is the day! Sign-ups! I wonder how quickly the teams will fill up? You might set a record. :) I'm always amazed at how little time it takes for all the spots to disappear. :)

I have a feeling it's going to be over in about five minutes, to tell you the truth. I've very specifically recruited some authors that have never written for the match before, so, that should be SUPER exciting. :D :D :D

And I figured you'd be okay with it, I'm just... arg. I've been so cheerfully writing these 750 word fics without much editing or plot or anything, and today I did the second one and realized, oh hey, I should really go about this a different way. And then I sort of grew a premise, which is not at all the sort of writing I've been doing for my morning pages, and now I'm actually going to have to edit this thing to make it work. And then write a second piece in a different POV. Oh boy.
