When I used to do all these quizzes and things and man, I just DELIGHT in this kind of shit. I could totally post these every day.

So anyway, here's the link to a Self-Knowledge Questionnaire that tells you three traits that are important strands in your personality.

I usually only post stuff like this when it is either eerily accurate or hilariously inaccurate. I thought this was going to be the latter, but in fact, it was the former.

Rationality

You like clarity and intelligent simplicity and you get frustrated at messy thinking. This can make you seem unreasonably pushy to some, but it is actually a virtue: you are motivated by a horror at pointless effort and a longing for precision and insight into how things and people work. Your ability to synthesise and bring order is essential in producing thinking which is truly helpful.

Reverence

One part of you dreams of giving yourself up – perhaps just for a while – to a hero or mentor. In the right circumstances you can flourish by letting go of your ego. In your inner life, reverence plays out as a willing submission to your own conscience. In the outside world, you might get frustrated searching for something worth believing in – a country, a person, a company – but you will always be open to feeling respect, admiration and wonder.

Playfulness

You are good at seeing what’s funny, at relaxing and finding the pleasure of the moment. Play is random, whimsical, fantasy-driven behaviour which releases internal tension. Because it is detached from some pressures it allows you to act on weirder, perhaps neglected, parts of yourself. The downside is that it is no help in sticking with things that are not much fun but which need to be addressed. So it is well complemented by its opposite, Stoicism.

Interesting quiz! I got Aggression, Sensitivity, and Orderliness. Although I didn't agree w/the aggression part, the other two were really on point.

Interesting! I've taken it a couple of times and got mostly the same result, plus Sensitivity sometimes, but never aggression. I'll have to tweak my answers to see if I can get that one!

That description of Rationality sounds rather a lot like the job you do: creating order out of chaos while surrounded by knuckleheads.

I got Orderliness, Playfulness and Resilience. I once made a conscious try at letting my apartment stay messy for a while instead of picking up all the time. That lasted about a day and a half before I started to get twitchy. Sigh.

Yeah, that was my thought too! I was like, yes. This is me. This is what I DO.

Ooh, that sounds like an excellent combo. I enjoy orderliness too, but my wife is not the orderly type, so I have to compromise. :)

I took the quiz a bunch of times, because there were a couple of questions I struggled to pick definitive answers for. Independence and aggression were the traits consistent, irrespective. I varied between getting orderliness or rationality - but again, consistently between those two.

Fascinating! I retook the test because of your comment, and my Playfulness was replaced with Sensitivity. Guess I'm feeling a little sensitive today? Still, it is appropriate - I feel like most of these things are fairly reasonable things to be said about me at different points in different moods.

Gotta say - I would have totally expected Reverence for you, but I was dead surprised to see it for me! But then the explanation really resonated with me, surprisingly so.

I got Tenderness, Sensitivity, and Resilience, which I have to think reflects my innate Mommitude (I got a "Dude, you're such a mom" several times in the last week), but I don't know if that's entirely accurate? Maybe I'll take the test again tomorrow and see.

And you know, I think we all have most of these facets and they change from day to day (or over months and years) so definitely try again and see what you get. My playfulness turned to sensitivity when I took this the second time (the day before I got my period, heh).
