Here's the full 30 days, for those who want to play along.

Day 4: Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?

I don't, actually. I like a lot of characters, and I usually end up writing situations or ideas that intrigue me; sometimes they're character-based, sometimes they're situational or canon-based. That said, Crowley has pushed his way into one fic I was writing, and I've had Lorne/Zelenka accidentally happen when I was writing something else.

Day 5: If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?

As above, I have had it happen, but I'm usually writing about the characters I find most interesting, so more often what happens is that I have to remind myself that other people do actually intersect with these characters I love; they don't live in a bubble (or, we hope not). So I have to remind myself to add interactions with characters outside their romantic partner.

That generally means that I roll with it - if someone other than the characters I'm writing about pushes their way in, I usually call it a reminder and add them in, unless it makes something else too thorny (I'm still trying to figure out what to do with Crowley in the fic where he butted in).

Day 6: When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?

I would really, really, really like to say that I prefer writing women - and in the case of original fiction, I'm thinking that's true - but in the case of fanfiction, it's definitely men. I'm a slasher, so I prefer M/M relationships, which means dudes are the focus of my writing. I still try to include women where I can, and write stories about women, but not often enough, really. And I would say I'm trying to make an effort toward that, but with the number of WIPs on my plate, that's simply a lie.
