Dear SGA Santa:

kateThings I'd like: Man, this is it! The last gift fic I'll probably ever receive in SGA. So I guess I should ask for what I'd really really want, huh? Okay. There are four stories I have deep, abiding love for (and even though I've gotten each of these as gifts before, I always want more!):
1. Teyla and Elizabeth first time fic. I love the two of them and I think Teyla is about the only person Elizabeth would be able to let go with in this way, at least until Caldwell shows up. I'd prefer canon here, though canon forks (what if Elizabeth was the one that met Teyla first instead of John?) or alternate canons (they get to Atlantis some other way; maybe Teyla's running Atlantis when the expedition arrives and she hosts them, to flip everything on its head) would be awesome, too!
2. Teamfic and/or OT4. Either/or or both! I love them as a team, so genfic is always appreciated, especially if it shows how much they care about each other, what they'd do for each other, etc. etc. etc. OT4 is all manner of hotness, so I'd take that any way I can get it. Canon preferred for this.
3. Ronon fic. I love Ronon, and I want all the background fic for him. Especially if it's something that shows he's not just a Neanderthal, that he's thoughtful and smart and not illiterate. Secret things that maybe only one special person finds out (someone from the team, Radek, Jennifer, Amelia). Give me insight into Ronon, any way you like.
4. A McShep first time AU. Angst getting together would be appreciated, but all fluff is cool, too! Sex or no sex, kink or no kink, that's all good for me, I just want the two of them getting together (and actually - if you love Jennifer, keep her too - I am not averse to John/Rodney/Jennifer. At the very least, please don't kill her off or do anything bad to her). Canon fork AUs (what if? scenarios that lead to McShep), alternate canon AUs (Stargates exist but they don't get to Atlantis the same way as canon), complete AUs (they're Santa's elves! an olympic bobsled team!), straight up crack (bumper sticker/car, remote/TV, animals on a children's petting farm), or fusions (Supernatural: they're hunters that run into each other and find out they work well together, Pacific Rim: John's a jaeger pilot (with his brother!) and Rodney's an engineer, The Losers: our team is another team that get shafted by Max). Those are just some random suggestions - if you think of anything that fits in any of these categories, I'm sure I'll love it!
Things I wouldn't like: Very little on this list these days. A/B/O, mpreg, humiliation, scat
First off! I love it. Whatever you've got in mind, I love it. I'm soooooo not kidding. You're making something special for me, you're putting your heart into it. I LOVE IT. No matter what it is. My #1 ironclad rule about exchanges is that I want you to enjoy what you are creating. I will love it for that reason alone. If you're having a hard time of it, scrap everything and just write something that brings you joy.
I seriously read and write everything, so whatever it is you write, no matter how angsty or fluffy, I will read and love it. I love permanent injury fic or deathfic or noncon (I have a thing especially for bondage and AMTDI and impossible choices (and the aftermath of said situations)) or slice-of-life, holiday fics, and domestic fics (I am a fan of domestic fics where nothing more than cooking dinner happens, kidfic, team movie nights). Or mysteries, casefic, missionfic, horror, humor, PWP (gimme the tentacles, ALL THE TENTACLES), if you can think of it, I will love it. I guarantee.
Even my do not likes are not ironclad (except scat) - I like A/B/O that has some interesting twist on it - a way to turn the system on its head. Mpreg isn't horrible, I just prefer that you not focus on the pregnancy part too too much. If you want to have one or the other person just being attentive to the other, or a "how did Rodney get pregnant?!?!!" fic, that's totally cool! Humiliation (especially with John) has been done beautifully and I've loved it, so it's not a complete no-go either. So if you think you have a way to make me love my DNW list, GO FOR IT. Just please, don't write scat. That's one I'm not really interested in learning to love.
I like to give a lot of suggestions as jumping off points, so don't feel like you have to do any of the scenarios suggested above. They're just my attempt at giving inspiration, ways to get the wheels turning, or the muse to spread their fairy dust, or whatever. I don't necessarily want those exact scenarios (though I certainly wouldn't turn them down!), I just want to give you ideas that will inspire something you really want to write.
