on 8/25/14 12:24 am (UTC)You know - I like to think if I had some idyllic little cabin in the woods tucked away, with no distractions, I'd write like the wind! But I know myself, and that's not actually what makes me write.
Honestly, I write better and with more concentration when there are other things (particularly work) fluttering around me. I used to write porn in the ER when the uber-Christian doc put on Christian music. It was a huge motivator.
I work better at a desk/table, though. I do write in bed (first thing in the morning, for real, I get good words then - this is probably 75% of my productivity) but I'm much happier sitting at a table.
The AO3 is the best! I love it, I love having fic show up on my dwircle nearly hourly.
