kateOkay, so by now you must have realized that I'm going to rec every Match story and piece of art. And I am! Because everyone put in hard work on this and deserves to have their work read or... viewed? Have their art... ogled? Anyway, I'll do a lavvyan style top 5 list for both teams when all is said and done, but for now, I'm going to pimp every single thing coming out of this fest. I will also try to rec something that isn't from the fest, so you can have something else if McShep Match isn't your cuppa.
Today from McShep Match:
Team Play put up the stylistically interesting Double Feature, which is a first person POV about the boys watching movies. The first movie is with the rest of the gang (Lorne throwing perfectly on target projectiles!) and the second movies is just John and Rodney. Short and sweet.
Team Work put up the lovely and heartbreaking (this feels like a theme!) One Step Back. Warning, partner betrayal, and a lot of angst before the glimmer of a happy ending at the end. There's hope, though, and this story really hit me in my gut, you know? I love this sort of thing anyway, but it was done beautifully, so that's awesome.

There have only been 24 fills so far, and the ladies could really use some love. You can fill from either post 1 or post 2. Also - the fills that are up aren't receiving much love, so if you enjoyed something, please do let the author know!
A couple more of my favorites from this round:
Another Way to Break, Jennifer/Rodney, John/Rodney unrequited, Jennifer/John (AMTDI non-con). Apparently I'm in a dark mood lately, but this fic hurts in a way that's really satisfying to me. I really love how messed up this is, and how vulnerable John is in the situation.
A New and Glorious Morn, Teyla/John, she wants to have a child with the gene of the ancestors. Darkish, too, so it fits right in with my theme.
Healer, from the first post, Jennifer/Ronon, physician heal thyself. Really, really lovely Jennifer here and gorgeous language.
Breaking Together, Team!fic, dark dark dark, and disturbing images. Ouch. Painful, but good.
And one not-dark!fic: Leather, Lorne/Zelenka, Lorne in one of those nifty leather jackets.
