Fandom Snowflake Challenge days 4-5
1/12/14 04:22 amFandom Snowflake Challenge
Day 4
Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"
It doesn't have to be anything complex - it can be feedback for a fanwork or discussing something you might have in common or even simply admiring their icon. The point is to reach out to someone you normally wouldn't and connect with them, even if it's only for the briefest moment.
Several people I don't know made me lovely treats for
fandom_stocking and I thanked them heartily for it.
Day 5
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

There are so so so so many amazing people in fandom, and someday I will get around to doing a post for
busaikko here because seriously, if there's someone who has pushed every on of my boundaries, it's her, but this year, I'd like to talk about a class of folks: those that put challenges and fests and other fun fandom things together for us. I've done this, and it is no easy feat. Besides the logistics and administration of things like exchanges, big bangs, and kink memes, there's the enthusiasm for the fandom (or fandom in general) that really makes or breaks fannish activities.
So here are a few people that I really really respect, and the things they've done for fandom:
My partner in crime for the
ante_up_losers exchange and big bang,
lady_krysis, and our newest (and awesome) helper,
maharetr.
akamine_chan, who organized
snowflake_challenge.
medie, who put together
fandom_stocking.
amadi, who put together
galentinesday.
zvi, who put together
3_ships.
trobadora and
fluffyllama for
mcshep_match.
moonlettuce and
alyse for
sga_santa.
Oh boy. This was probably a mistake, as there are so many comms and people, I can't possible rec them all. But if you've done this for your fandom, or fandom at large, I salute you - it's a tough job and it really makes the fannish experience so much fun for everyone.
