2012 2013

So I have a tradition of using this for my [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa and Yuletide reveals, but I didn't do either of those this year. I would use my two pieces for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas, but I'm not really feeling it (probably because I still don't have a comment from my recipient on one of them). So this year I'm just going to pick out some of my personal favorites.

I really like most of my podfic, but Strangers on a Six Train (SGA, John/Rodney, PG-13, ~1 hr) is still one of my very very favorites - I like the sound effect I used, and I'm really pleased with my reading, and it was my very first one ever (and of course it was for podfic big bang, ha!). It's just a really great story that I had a lot of fun reading.

I don't always like my writing when I'm trying something new (genre, style, POV, whatever), but the antechamber of another world (Losers, Cougar/Jensen, R, 11,876 words) is my first steampunk-esque fic, and while it's not perfect, I really like it a lot.

Variations on a Theme of John Sheppard and its sequels (SGA, John/Rodney, NC-17, 32,130 words) are probably my favorite SGA fics. I had such a great time writing them, I liked where they went in the end, and generally I find them the most satisfying of all the stories I've written in that fandom.

Hm, this is a toughie for me, as I'm not particularly active on communities these days, I've been tending to fail at challenges, and the sites I'm thinking of aren't community-based, so... I guess I will just pick a few that I like.

[community profile] tv_talk is kind of like a slow-motion episode squeefest. There are a bunch of different shows over there, and folks comment on the episodes when they feel like it, whether that's when they air or when they get around to watching, or weeks later. It's fun to discuss eps without the stress of typing while I'm watching (I tend to miss things when I do that).

[community profile] thevault is s members-only comm to get what you need for your fannish activities, if you know what I mean.

[community profile] awesomeers is like Monday Pride Thread every day. There are monthly and weekly challenges and a frequent (not-quite-daily) awesomeness post where you can check in with something you did that day that you are proud of (and cheer others on).
