I suck.

No, I really really really suck. I rewatched the source material for my yuletide fic (and I had watched it once already, so I felt I had a pretty good grasp on it already) but missed a KEY thing, and now the fic is just f*cking WRONG. I mean, like this thing I missed COMPLETELY NEGATES THE ENTIRE FRICKING STORY.

How did I miss this?

I found out about it in someone's comment on another person's fic - a treat for the same prompt that I wrote for.

GODDAMMIT.

Oh, babe. Was it the source material that you watched all in one go a few weeks back? Ach, any road, I feel for you.

Don't take it too hard. If the recipient is confused to the point of disappointment, then I'm sure you can figure something out. That's between you and her/him, though, not a commenter.

You do not suck. You just changed jobs, played Beethoven, got ready for the RL holidays (dealing with a work party and family surprises) and wrote treats for more than one person. That's a lot on your plate, and if something had to go, I'm just glad it wasn't, you know, your health or something like that.

The recipient isn't confused - it's just obvious that I completely missed this one piece of information, and it makes the story just wrong.

The commenter was on a different story - I was just reading in the fandom, and when I read it, I was like "WTF??!!" I went to check, and she was right. NARGH.

And thanks, hon. It's good to put this all in perspective. I've still written an apology email and it includes an offer to write in another fandom (including SGA, which she's into, luckily). *sigh*

I just feel like an idiot.
