Supernatural bitching

Sorry, folks. I have nowhere to put this because the fandom is divided into Wincest shippers and Destiel shippers and I would just start a fucking wankfest on tumblr or Twitter, so it goes here, where as far as I know, no one on my dwircle gives a shit. I'll keep it off your reading pages, at least.
I think the most interesting thing to me is how I see the episode through the lenses of multiple ships all at once. I see Destiel folks cheering about some stuff and Wincest folks cheering about others, but honestly, I see it all in there (because all of it is done juuuuuuust under the radar - and I feel like the production team is basically leaving all their options open (or trying to please literally ALL the fans, which seems impossible)).
The one Destiel moment in 13.04 I haven’t seen picked up on by the shippers is when Sam presses Dean about his intentions. “So it’s about getting over mom.” And Dean CANNOT answer. That HAS to be Destiel - because if it WAS just about Mary, Dean would’ve just come out and said so. And not only is it specifically about Destiel, it’s about Sam *knowing* it’s about Destiel and pushing Dean about it. I love that - my favorite Destiel is where Sam knows and is supportive (and sometimes pushes Dean into it, because Dean’s afraid and Sam knows it).
My favorite Wincest moment is when Sam uses both his puppy dog eyes and his “For me.” to get Dean to let Jack come along on the hunt. He knows what buttons of Dean’s to push and he does it. I also like the fact that Dean is somewhat on board now because Jack saved Sam.
I think the whole season so far has been resting on that particular Wincest vibe (or just Sam&Dean vibe, if you’re not a Wincest shipper). You know the one. Where Sam knows Dean better than he knows himself. He knows why Dean’s being this way, and knows that it will break. He knows why and probably even when it will break.
For me, as someone who loves Sam, this is painful. Because Sam knows what’s going on, how long it’s going to take Dean, and he has to just live with Dean’s assholishness until that point. And make no mistake about it, Dean’s been a dick. Dean knows it, Sam knows it, the show knows it (based on Dean’s apology and Sam’s “Thanks.”). It’s understandable, it’s perfectly in character, but that doesn’t mean that it’s okay, especially not when he KNOWS he’s hurting his brother and he can’t bring himself to care.
The one ship I could use a little more of this season is Sastiel. It’s being pushed really hard that Sam’s grief is about Mary and Dean’s is about Cas (and nominally Mary). But both of them are grieving both Cas and Mary, and I would just like Sam’s feelings about Cas to be a little more present.
There are things that I think shippers are just mistaken about, too. I’m sorry, Destiel folks, but I do NOT believe Jack calling to Castiel in the empty was because DEAN was in pain. Jack called to Castiel because JACK was in pain, and that pain was largely caused by Dean, so I find it offensive to say that has ANYTHING to do with Destiel. Absolutely not. And I hope when Cas does get back, he gives Dean what for about treating his son so fucking poorly. It doesn’t MATTER that he was grieving, you don’t treat people that way, especially not CHILDREN. Sam was grieving and still managed to be supportive to Jack. (And this goes back to how Dean was treating Sam while he was grieving and I just cannot with that bullshit, so I'll stop there.)
So anyway, these are my feels. Dean annoys me (when does he not) but he is nominally forgiven for a) apologizing to Sam and b) acknowledging that he needs Sam to keep the faith. Because he does, and Sam knows that, but when Dean comes after him in the therapist's office, he starts to doubt himself. I think Sam knows he's the one that keeps the faith for both of them, and up until that point, he knew what he was doing was right. Dean's attack meant he questioned it, though, and that's why Dean pisses me off. I feel fairly certain Dean also knew that Sam was keeping the faith for both of them, but when pressed about his own grieving, he had to deflect, and he did that by destroying his brother, and I'm just a little sick of him using Sam as a punching bag. Deal with your shit on your own time, Dean.
I apologize in advance; Supernatural is one of those things I have a lot of feels about but don't have a good outlet for. I am friends with Wincest, Destiel, and multi-shippers on multiple platforms, but none of them seem to have similar thought processes to me and I don't want to get into it. I just want to get my feels out because fandom makes me crazy sometimes.
