The Fandom Snowflake Challenge Day 1
1/1/13 01:48 amIn your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
And again, this works out perfectly with reveals for
sga_santa and Yuletide. Some year I may choose my favorites (it's tough to narrow down to just three, but I'd manage somehow) or something, but for now, here are my December stories.
It's interesting - I really liked all of these stories, but I feel like only one - Shall I Tell You About Angels - hit the mark in terms of giving my recipient what they wanted. Contrary Motion was not really based on the requestor's letter (though it doesn't go against it) but a bit of advice I got from a friend of theirs (because the requests, while awesome, were too vague to really give me ideas). The Priest fic, I really thought I nailed that one, I like it, and it feels true to canon for me, but apparently not for my recipient, as still no comment. Shall I Tell You About Angels I really enjoyed writing - and it was a huge challenge, too. I love Teyla, but I'm SOOOOO not used to her POV. There were points where I was like, "why does this sound so off?" and it was because I'd suddenly moved out of Teyla's head. Not quite into John or Rodney's, but close. I need to write more fic from non-John and Rodney POVs, I really enjoy this one and how it turned out.
