Flying isn't the great hunt for freedom, it's about being in mastery of yourself, your environment, and a few tons of sexy, incredibly expensive machinery. That's the rush. Conversely, losing control would be perceived as dangerous and/or fatal.
That's why I can't buy supersub!Sheppard.
