And I got three EXCELLENT stories.
My main story, by a freaking master, I'm telling you, is By daybreak we'll be gone (13,000 words, mature), the most amazing werewolf fic I've ever read, with a real team feel, a little bit of Clay/Roque awesomeness (mostly hazy, but there's the outline of a relationship there, I think), delightful Jolene/Pooch, and amazing Cougar/Jensen. This story made me cry. And then laugh. And then want to hug it to my chest and not share it with anybody... except that I totally want to share it with everybody, and you should all go read it right now!
I also got two of the most delightful treats!
Don't Mind the Burn (800 words, all audiences), a lovely story about the Losers and their family dinners and how they all fit together so beautifully. Really lovely Jolene and Jensen's sister (Liz, in this story) and niece (Beth, in this story).
Cakes Named After People, And Other Unexpected Changes (200 words, all audiences). This is just... wow. So I asked for a crack prompt of "They're treats in a bakery case." and this lovely person not only gave that to me, they made it not-crack. Amazing. And such beautiful transliteration of characters into cupcakes in so few words. Lovely.
I've finished sending out emails (whatever we did to get the stories to go live, we broke the automatic gift emailing, so I sent out emails to every with links to their stories and/or treats). I've really done enough today, I think, so bedtime for me, and I'll read the rest of the stories over the weekend. I'm so excited! 42 new stories in the Losers fandom! :D :D :D
