I am so stressed I completely forgot about SYTYCD until I saw it on my DVR a few minutes ago (I'm watching right now - still not really interested in any of these folks yet).

Character List Meme

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.

2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments. For example: "One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?", "Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?", "Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"

3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.

Half the fun of this meme is creating the character list. :D

Yay for you doing this, too! I am shamelessly repeating my questions to recessional, because Reasons. (Mainly because I want to see your explanations for them. :D)

Given the group of 1, 3, 7, 9, and 14: who fills each role in their 5 man band? What role does their group serve?

2, 8, 10, 13: when they get together, is it for a book club, stitch'n'bitch, RPG/boardgame group, or potluck gathering? Depending on which is chosen, what's their favorite book genre/craft/game/cuisine?

4 & 6 play a game of "Marry, Shag, Cliff" with 5, 11, and 12 as the options. What are their choices?

Which person on the list is 15's best friend, and who is their worst enemy?

There are still two-three girls who are absolutely interchangeable for me on SYTYCD this season, but I was surprised this week that I at least knew who people were. Step two is caring, and since no one who I remembered from auditions made it to top 20, that'll probably take a while.

I was so bummed to see Emilio and Teddy in the bottom three so soon. Their Christopher Scott routine from introducing top 20 was the only this so far this season that's stuck with me for more than 5 minutes. I liked Sean Chessman's afro jazz from last week, but I couldn't tell you who danced it.

Yup - none of the girls were speaking to me except Jordan, so, there you go. I liked the hip hop girl this week, the skeleton routine? I can't remember her name, damn it.

The only dude that's on my radar at all is Marquet, and the judging panel handed him his ass tonight. I wonder what's up with that. I don't think his routine was good, but dude, NO ONE's routine was any good. This is the worst top twenty in a while - I feel like the routines are really amateurish and no one is really choreographing great routines. This week was particularly bad. And were there really two jives? Really? D:

I don't remember much of anything from last week, or even this week, actually. I did like the chick with the blue polka dot tutu that did jive - that routine was the only one I even remember a little bit.

I think the second jive - prom, or school dance or whatever - was meant to be jazz? I was distracted by remembering Travis's routine for Kent and Lauren, and oh my gosh was that really 4 years ago?

Anyway, I couldn't be bothered to go back and watch the rehearsal package again to figure out what was going on, but regardless of the actual style, they were way too similar.

The blue dress jive girl and skeleton hip hop are two of my interchangeables, but yeah, they were both near the top for me.

There are definitely choreographers who get it and those who don't, in terms of creating performances that are memorable to a TV audience. Unfortunately for the dancers, they usually require props or costumes that they can barely see out of ;)

If 1,2,6,7,10, and 15 go to an amusement park; who is who's coaster buddy? Also, is there someone that refuses to ride the roller coaster and goes and hangs out in the arcade? Does one of them drag the others to the live shows? Does one of them like the water rides more than the other rides?

I'm really uninvested in this season of SYTYCD, too. There's almost no one from the top 20 who I could name if you showed me a picture of them, and I haven't really found many of the dances particularly engaging, either. Very disappointing. I may give it up and use that time for other stuff this season, since I'm heavily engaged in obsessing over two anime fandoms right now. :/

Right?! This is not a good top twenty, not at all, and the first two shows have had impressive group choreo but not-so-impressive anything else. I like Marquet because he charmed me in Vegas, but he's not delivering, and I'm not so happy with the choreographers so far.

I can't give up, though, no matter how bad, because usually it gets so much better when we get to the top ten.
