Snowflake Challenge #6
Fans (and human beings in general!) accumulate stuff that reflects our interests. A scavenger hunt is a chance to share some of the things you enjoy with others and let them get to know you better.
When you find an item on the list, post a picture or a description of it or both.
1. A favorite character

I cannot choose between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji so I simply shan't. Grey bunny = Wei Wuxian, White bunny = Lan Wangji.
2. Something that makes you laugh

Little girl (Ripley) has made this pillow fortress for herself and spends her days here while I work at the desk across the way.
3. A bookshelf

We threw our books onto our bookshelves when we moved and haven't organized them. This does contain a zillion new and old fandoms for me and my wife though - BPAL, Good Omens, Supernatural, Star Trek, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and the teddy bear is my wife's when she was small.
4. A game or hobby you enjoy

The only non-fannish hobby I have is music, but I love it a lot and enjoy playing my clarinet.
5. Something you find comforting

Blankets are my favorite. We have at least two per chair, plus others scattered around the house. This one is my favorite, it's huge and soft and I can wrap myself up in it completely.
6. A TV show or movie you hope more people will watch

It's an investment but it's so worth it. The Untamed has so much good stuff.
7. A piece of clothing you love

Socks!!! I couldn't pick a single piece of clothing, so I went for my addiction - socks! I love them. I collect them. I like fuzzy ones for comfort and short ones for going out and about and I have compression socks for traveling and dress socks for work and ... the pink ones on top are bunnies.
8. A thing from an old fandom

Supernatural was something else. My favorite things from it, though, were fandom-based, not canon-based. Gish was amazing and I miss the hell out of it.
9. A thing from a new fandom

My newest fandom (just slightly newer than MDZS) is BJYX, or RPF for The Untamed actors. I've written about it before so I won't go too into it, but. I love these guys so much.

Ripley is adorable and your blanket looks so soft and cosy.
I also enjoy seeing fannish bookcases as so often they contain Funko Pops.

Kitty! ♥
Even though you say your bookshelf isn't organised, it looks far neater than the monstrosities I've got here. XD I have not enough shelves for too many books, so it looks pretty crammed, especially the one I deem the "English books shelf" - that's a row in front of another row. XD It's awful! But I also don't have anymore space to put up shelves...
I so wish my RL friends would get into CQL, or at least, you know, one that lives close by. XD I do have a friend that I got to know through the internet and that I've met in RL but she lives too far away for regular meet ups. T_T And though I've got two friends who are suuuper into movies and tv shows and books, they have no interest in CQL. My best friend has at least tried, but she doesn't have the patience for the style and all the subtitle reading. She needs shows that she doesn't have to stare at the whole time lest she miss something. And the other friend just isn't interested in Asian movies in general, witha few prestigious exceptions. Very Western centric, he is. *sigh*
The GISHWHES things! What are those - DVDs? Or another kind of collectible? I never was in SPN fandom but I've heard of it (and read a Sherlock fic that used GISHWHES as something for Sherlock to do because he was so bored XD).

Yeah, I have had zero luck getting anyone into CQL either. I have a friend trying to book because she couldn't get into the show, but honestly I don't hold out hope.
The Gish things are like... yearbooks? The best stuff from they year goes into the books. The year we did it super-seriously, we got two things in the book, I think - including a photo of my mom! :D :D :D I can totally see it being a thing Sherlock would do.

Oh that’s cool with the yearbooks, like, they’re official books from the organisers? What a great idea! :D
Found the Sherlock fic; I remember re-reading it a few times because it was actually really entertaining!

Gish is. Tough to describe. They're a lot more than yearbooks, and it's considered a huge honor to be included and it's voted on by the community... it's a whole thing.
I've written it into SPN and I've seen it other place too - a lot of items in the Gish scavenger hunt are fannish. William Shatner played several years, and other celebs too.

Socks!
Turns out being a sock lover makes it v easy for people to get one gifts. I've got 40-year-old pairs which bring back fond memories of the giver.

i see david eddings on your bookshelf and i'm having nostalgia flashbacks. i gave away a ton of books when my parents moved - they had SO MANY BOXES OF MY STUFF in their basement and i just didn't have room to take everything - and every so often i think of books that i gave away and go "why didn't i keep that??" and now i'm kind of wishing i'd kept all the eddings.

Ah, that's my wife's books. I think I might have read (or listened to, maybe?) one series? But she really likes his stuff.

I am still reading the novel! What's weird is I think I made it up to this point in the actual show because I think I remember a lot of the scenes. The names are still killing me, but I trudge on! <3333
Blankets and socks are the best!
no subject
Yeah, the names get easier with time, but there's no way out but through. It's a really fantastic story, if you can just get to the part where it starts rolling along. The opening is a bit... dense... for a lot of people.
Blankets and socks are definitely the best. :D
