Warning: discussion of sick pet

So, Fatty is pretty sick. If you have good vibes/prayers/charms to spare, send them our way? Also advice about syringe feeding soft food to an extremely stubborn cat who spits it back out.

Many thanks. <3

Many many good vibes and some purring from Telstar wafting across the pond to you and Fatty.

Unfortunately, the only thing we can suggest is the "squeeze it in --> hold his mouth closed and stroke his throat until he swallows" method. It worked for our cat, but the stress that it caused really made it difficult to keep doing.

Best wishes for the kitty.

If you can burrito him securely in a towel while the other one syringes, that should help. Cradle him like a baby on his back so it's harder for him to spit it out. He will be miserable but he'll feel better for it after :s :s :s If you water it down a bit more he can swallow faster, maybe? .__. Hoping he weathers this one.. <3

Sending all my love for a kitty.

Seconding the burrito method - we used it for pilling for 8 years. Also, on the off chance this is kidney disease, get the vet to look at Fatty's teeth and gums - our lovely lady was unhappy about eating because she had gingivitis from the high uric acid in her blood.

If there's any canned foods he used to like, whirring that in a blender or diluting it might make it easier? Also, making no warning or fuss about tackling him (if you can) helps with the resistant ones who run away from you.
One of our cats adores pill pockets of a very particular kind (Feline Greenies) and won't touch others. We could probably get him to eat *anything if it had some of that stuff in it.
