The Blue Angels are practicing outside my window... tough to concentrate
Work at the client is wrapping up, and I have the most AMAZING hotel these last two weeks, right on Lake Michigan - I get to watch the Navy Pier ferris wheel light up every night (and that reminds me of Strangers on a Six Train again (and my podfic of it - probably my favorite podfic I've done)).
So anyway, when I realized that it was the 57th Annual Air and Water show on the lakefront this weekend, I extended this week's reservation so we could take advantage of it. :D :D :D
I keep fucking up at this client, so I'm going to get off of DW now, but I did want to mention the Blue Angels thing, because awesome. :D
HI DWIRCLE, HI HI HI!!!

I can talk to my roommate and see what we can come up with. It shouldn't be a problem, though. We're staying in Kenosha Monday night. If we leave a bit early to go home, we're gonna stay in Chicago for a night and spend time at the botanical garden. (And that's definitely a possibility. Next weekend is MTU's freshman drop-off weekend and we're currently wait-listed for a room since everyone is all full up.) If we leave early, we'll be heading down on Friday. The very latest we can leave is next Monday.
Both ways, we should have plenty of time to hang out -- it's only 5 hours from here to Kenosha, so if we leave as early as we're planning, we'll be there by 1 or 2. And, even if we're not going to stay an extra day in Chicago, we'll definitely be staying the night, so that gives us time to meet. :D

OMG YAYYY! Kenosha is half an hour from my apartment! (I live in Waukegan.) I'm downtown Chicago for most of the week, though, I'll be there from Monday to Thursday. After that I'm unavailable, sadly, as it's my sister's wedding, so I'll be heading up north for that.
I work during the week, usually 9-6, but I can change that up a little, if you want to come down for a day in the city and do lunch or dinner in the city (though I have my wife on Tuesday night (cirque de soleil), my sister on Wednesday night (tall ship Windy), and I have to pick my brother up from the airport on Thursday, so Monday is really the only night I have truly open. I could probably wrangle Thursday night, too, though.
If you need a hotel in the city for a night, I can get you one on points for free, just let me know.

Jenn has already booked our Kenosha room for Monday night (on our way up to Michigan), but I don't think she's decided where we're staying on our way home from MI yet. I'll talk to her and see what she says. :)

Awesome! The original Pizzaria Uno is right downtown here, so that is definitely the place to go if you want to try deep dish!
I hope we can work this out - it's so exciting! :D :D :D

Saturday is booked, but I'd love to head out that way on Sunday - how long are you hanging out?

Is there one that works better for you? I'll be driving, so I could also meet you somewhere in the middle.
I hope we can make this work; I'd love to give you an in-person hug. :)

I think lunch Sunday is probably best for me, maybe a late-ish one, like 1pm? How would that work for you? I'm happy to meet wherever, I don't mind driving down to Rosemont. There's a Fogo de Chao around there if you like that sort of thing?
