A friend of a friend needs comfort reads - I've linked hir to my SGA McShep comfort fic recs, but xie also reads bandom and due South, which I do not. Got any recs for longish fics that make you happy? Slash good; I'm not sure about het, gen, or femslash, but give me those anyway, if you would. Oh, and Firefly - if you know of any good comfort fics (I never read much in that fandom, even though I do love the canon so).

due South mental comfort food for me is Speranza's work. Chicago's Most Wanted, Juggling Act, Eight Sessions, Ping, and About A Dog.

Also, Resonant's American Way.

Thank you very much! Two of my fave authors there, and I know a tiny bit about the dS canon (I think I've seen two or three eps), so maybe I'll give them a try myself.

Seconding this! Plus, my all-time favorite Speranza story (well, actually, my all-time favorite fic of any fandom, possibly my all-time favorite any-type-of-writing-ever) is An Admirable Solution.
