Recipes, yay!

Cream Cheese Bars

Ingredients
2 pkgs. Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
2 pkgs. (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation
Separate egg. Mix yolk, cheese, sugar and vanilla. Stretch 1 pkg. of crescent rolls into bottom of greased 9x13" greased pan. Spread cream cheese mixture over the rolls. Stretch the second pkg of rolls over the cheese mixture. Beat egg white until frothy and brush on top of rolls. Combine the 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top and bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.

When you spread the crescent rolls on the bottom, make sure you have all the edges connected. Not such a big deal for the top part, but you don't want the cream cheese mixture to burn to the pan. You don't have to use a brush either to get the egg on. Just put a teaspoonful on at a time and swirl each one around. It's just used to brown the top crust and hold on the sugar.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar

Preparation

In a medium bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar, peanut butter and melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Melt chocolate chips over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring occasionally. Spread melted chocolate over the crumb crust. Chill for about 5 minutes, then cut into bars before the chocolate is completely set, then chill until ready to serve.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mashed bananas
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together, and set aside.

Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Mix in the mashed bananas. Add the flour mixture, and stir until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.

Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
