Thank you for hosting this month, and sticking to it despite not having checked in for so long! ♥ I'm happy to help if you're having any questions about the technical part of the hosting. My to-go-method is keeping the tally in a separate txt-file so I always just need to copy it in the next entry, as it's quite easy to make a mistake and break the code, and then fumbling around to rectify it. *g*

In July, I've been ambushed by a re-emerging of my first major fandom (Age of Sail in general, the Bolito novel series in particular). I wrote a ton of fanfic in that during my teens and early twens, at a time when there was no internet yet and I also didn't know what fanfic was and that I could write what I really wanted, including fix-it for major character death in canon. And, as for most of us, my early steps into writing weren't very skilled. ;op In July, I was planning to re-read my old fics (painstakingly saved over all this time - first written in longhand or with a typewriter, later typed into my first computer (an Atari) and then converted the data files up until today) and then throw them away with fond memories and a loving good-buye (I'm at the age where you start to sort through things and weed out stuff), but then had the sudden urge to instead do something with some of them and bring them up to date. So started what I'm calling the Nostalgia project: sorting through all those fics, merging several (I wrote so many OCs back then) into one longer and fitting-together narrative, converting everything into English, too, and create drafts and scenes of something which might or might not be written out more in detail in the future. This will stay a drawer project for my eyes only although I'm also having a few ideas for publishable snippets. I was having the loveliest time doing this since then, also writing all the fix-its, queer charas etc. I wanted into it.
I'll be mainly working at this during October, I suppose, but there are also a few exchange fics needing to be written in my previously current main fandom (Tolkienverse - considering how much AoS is occupying my mind since July I can no longer say Tolkienverse is currently my main fandom, I suppose ;op ), and I'm supposed to write an original Christmas story for a yearly anthology. I'm already late with that one and don't know if it'll happen after all, but we'll see.
Also, October is going to be a very tough month for me for RL reasons, so all of my plans might come to nought even so. I'm usually writing every day but I might not be able to check in daily for this reason.

Day 1: 900+ words of nonfic so far
Edit: adding 1,4k of fic.
