It's not really overwhelming (I've had some stories that definitely were too much for me and hit me with nerves in the middle), I just fell out of this fandom over a decade ago, and it was based in a very specific period in my life, so getting back into it is impossible at this point.

Sadly, I'm in the same boat as you with my new fandom. Partially it's that I don't want to misstep, as there are cultural issues all over the place, so I feel very frozen and that I can't write, sadly. :(
