Honestly, daily writing is the #1 piece of advice I give about writing. Making it part of every day, making it ordinary keeps those "waiting for my muse to show up" moments at bay. I write because it's time to write, you know? And it turns out, my stuff from days like that often ends up way better than when my muse is really sparking me (then, often, I'm typing so fast I skip things, and I have to go back and fill a lot of things in (or delete the whole bit)).
