I can see the appeal! The extra hits and bookmarks are nice, definitely, and you make an excellent point about specific feedback. I guess I never get that much specific feedback, so I hadn't even thought about it. I love comments (and those with specific details) as much as the next person, but I'm sort of... resigned? to the kudos culture now, and just assume I won't get much more than "wow" in a comment anyway. (This is reminding me to take the time to really feedback things I liked. I slip in and out of this habit depending on how much I'm reading at the time, how much energy I have when I'm done, and how much I like the story.)
