I am very curious to read about constructions and whether they are kept as separate identities (as it seems people are saying about Sheppard - that he has personas he slips into) or simply become who you are (I imagine people would consider this losing yourself in one of the personas and consider it bad, though in my case, I don't think it's bad; a little sad, maybe, but not a bad thing).
And I had an amazing adoptive family too, don't get me wrong. They never made me feel anything but completely loved and part of the family - there was no distinction for them between adopted kids and biological ones. But I've always carried this with me, my own irrational way of dealing with the situation, one at odds with how everyone treated me. I don't know if I can explain it any better than that, but I'm going to try because I think it's time for another adoption post.
