Hm, you've taken a decidedly different spin on him than I have, though I get some of the rebellion, definitely. Outcast was pretty vague about stuff, as I recall, but I haven't seen it in a while.
I have to say I find it really interesting, the things people pick up about Sheppard's characterization. I mean, you have a compelling argument (like Dora does above), but it's not what I see right off. Fascinating how many things he pings in people. I guess this is why Shep is so popular. :)
So - what about an AU Sheppard, can you imagine him without flying? What part of the narrative with breaking free is the thing that speaks to you, and how do you think that translates into, say, the accountant AU?
