I participate in the Christmas exchanges (well, only sga_santa this year) because I love writing gift fic; there should be more non-holiday fic exchanges! I mean, memes are well and good, but it's that deadline, and having a single specific recipient that really gets my motor running.

Yeah, LJ has just because a huge waste of time for me. The very few people that are reading me over there are RL people, and so I spend as little time as possible. I'm there for lavvyan, my ten or so RL friends (that hardly journal at all anyway, so getting them to move is nigh impossible), and sga_santa and mcshep_match. When I'm done with SGA fandom, I'll be done with LJ, I think, completely.

Just with the interest in the poll, I'd say it'd be worth running. Maybe I'll put up a post on the_losers_2010 and see if I can get more of a feel for how many people might participate.
