Really! I know so many performance majors that never quite made it, for any number of reasons. I would love to hear your story sometime, if you've the urge to tell it.

Yay, practice! I have some ideas about how to 'practice' dialogue, description, sentence/paragraph construction, word choice, and metaphor, but it might take some time to pull together. I'm thinking mostly lists of things to use as jumping off points for any of those things, and for construction, maybe adding structure - say a drabble format - to force myself to think about every word that gets put in there.

Etudes are tougher. I'm thinking a 1000-2000 word piece per week, concentrating on whatever is the theme that week.

I have a TON of 'repertoire' in my WIP folder, so I'm not worried about that yet, except I can't decide if I should force myself to write one piece at a time or if I should let myself wander between pieces based on my mood.

Thoughts? What do you feel about a community for this sort of thing, something to try and keep us responsible?
